About the Role
Research Associate–Metals Pricing & Indexing Role Summary Support pricing and indexing operations for steel and other metals markets by delivering accurate market assessments and insightful market intelligence. The role focuses on continuous process improvement aligned with departmental KPIs. The ideal candidate should be sharp, analytical, quick to learn, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to innovate and improve processes. Key Responsibilities Collect, validate, and analyze market data for pricing and index calculations. Prepare clear, concise, and insightful market reports and commentaries covering price trends, trade flows, and market developments. Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and overall data quality in line with departmental KPIs. Build and maintain trusted relationships with industry participants, data providers, and market stakeholders. Ensure adherence to internal pricing methodologies, IOSCO principles, compliance standards, and data governance practices. Maintain transparency in pricing methodologies, development mechanisms, and escalation processes for handling client grievances. Ensure the development of high-quality market content through adherence to Content Development Guidelines (CoDeG) and periodic audits of articles and reports. Develop and publish periodic reports and market intelligence updates related to the assigned commodity segment. Maintain regular interaction with key data points, industry participants, and strategic partners to strengthen market coverage and data reliability. Develop value-added market insights and analytical content to enhance the credibility and quality of market intelligence offerings. Learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and analytical approaches to improve operational efficiency and reporting capabilities. Monitor developments in steel, metals, scrap, and commodity markets to support market intelligence initiatives. Participate in continuous training initiatives to strengthen understanding of pricing methodologies, compliance standards, and operational best practices. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Metallurgy, or related fields; MBA preferred. 0–4 years of experience in steel, metals, scrap, or commodity market analysis, pricing, or indexing. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail. Comfortable handling large datasets and conducting market research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, entrepreneurial, and capable of working effectively under tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving ability with a continuous improvement mindset.
