Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Cloud Database Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure team and support large-scale database migration and cloud transformation initiatives. The role involves working closely with application, infrastructure, and SRE teams to enable reliable database migrations, optimize database performance, automate deployments, and support cloud-native database operations. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable database structures including schemas, tables, indexes, and functions. Manage database setup, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning activities. Implement automated schema versioning and deployment processes. Plan and execute database migration projects such as Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations. Ensure data integrity through validation, reconciliation, and consistency checks. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues across development, testing, and production environments. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and SRE teams for seamless database operations and integrations. Implement database security best practices including access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls. Support application teams in resolving database-related issues and incidents. Contribute to automation initiatives and CI/CD-based deployment workflows. Required Skills Strong expertise in relational databases: PostgreSQL Oracle MS SQL Server Strong SQL programming skills. Hands-on experience in: Query optimization Performance tuning Indexing Database troubleshooting Strong understanding of cloud database platforms: GCP CloudSQL preferred Experience with database migration tools such as: GCP DMS Similar migration frameworks/tools Experience with schema versioning and automation tools: Liquibase Flyway Scripting experience in: Shell scripting Python PowerShell Experience working with: CI/CD pipelines Automated deployment workflows Skills: gcp,postgresql,oracle
