We are backed by National Quantum Mission and IPV About the Role At Bloq, we are building the orchestration layer that connects high-level quantum algorithms to diverse hardware backends. As a Quantum Middleware Developer, you will sit at the intersection of computer science and quantum physics, developing the software stack responsible for making quantum circuits executable, efficient, and resilient to noise. What You Will Work On You will be a core contributor to our middleware architecture, focusing on the following technical pillars: Circuit Compilation & Optimization: Developing algorithms to synthesize high-level circuits into hardware-native gate sets while minimizing gate depth and total count. Hardware-Aware Transpilation: Solving complex mapping and routing problems (e.g., SWAP insertion) optimized for specific qubit topologies like Heavy-Hex, Square Lattice, or All-to-All. Error Management & Mitigation: Implementing and benchmarking state-of-the-art techniques such as Zero-Noise Extrapolation (ZNE), Probabilistic Error Cancellation (PEC), and Clifford Data Regression (CDR). Error Shielding: Developing automated passes for Dynamical Decoupling (DD) and pulse-level optimizations to combat T2 decoherence. Hardware-Software Interfacing: Designing the Intermediate Representation (IR) that facilitates seamless communication between algorithm frameworks and pulse-level control systems. Key Responsibilities Design & Implementation: Architect and write production-quality code for transpiler passes and optimization routines. Performance Benchmarking: Analyze the performance of middleware stacks across various hardware noise models. Research Integration: Stay abreast of the latest pre-prints and publications in QEC and compilation to integrate cutting-edge methods into the Bloq platform. Collaboration: Work closely with hardware partners and algorithm researchers to ensure the middleware layer provides maximum fidelity for end-users. Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation for the middleware API and optimization logic. Requirements Education: B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD/ BS-MS in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering. Programming: High proficiency in Python , C++ , or Rust . Quantum Stack: Hands-on experience with at least one major SDK ( Qiskit , TKET , Cirq , PennyLane ). Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of quantum information theory, specifically noise models, gate fidelity, and circuit topology.
