About The Role Job Summary The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of plant buildings and machinery. This includes establishing standards for pollution control, testing, and maintenance, and recommending new equipment and systems. This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member. Provide technical support to the Sales and Tendering teams throughout the bidding process. Review pump selections prepared by the Tendering team to ensure technical compliance and optimization. Review and interpret client specifications, particularly for critical or special requirements. Coordinate with the Design Responsible (DR) team to obtain additional technical inputs and solutions. Interact directly with customers to understand specific application needs and incorporate them into the design layout. Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical queries and obtain necessary clarifications. Coordinate with other Sulzer legal entities (SPUK, SPDE, SPSZH, SPUSA) to obtain technical support and share expertise. Provide technical assistance to the Costing department during the bidding stage. Prepare preliminary Pump General Arrangement (GA) drawings for customer submission. Estimate not‑to‑exceed dimensions based on pump selection and buyout drawings. Coordinate with Order Engineering teams (Hydraulics, Bare Pump, Packaging, Instrumentation, Electrical, etc.) to address special or non‑standard requirements. Support and collaborate with Operations, Purchase, Sales, and Tendering teams during technical evaluations. Proactively support company initiatives that promote safe working practices, environmental protection, and continuous improvement.
