Swarajya is looking to hire up to 3 Staff Writers/Associate Editors to join its editorial team to cover deep tech, start-ups and economics space. These are full-time positions based in our Delhi/Noida office. A background/ prior experience in covering the economy/tech beats helps but is not mandatory. If you have the knack for understanding how deep tech ecosystems and economies work, and can explain it clearly, then this role will suit you. What you will do Report and write on macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, trade, industry, and economic policy. Cover deep tech matters such as: AI, semiconductors, space, defence technology, clean energy, and digital infrastructure. Cover India's technology ecosystem, including research institutions, startups, large industrial players, and government programmes. Do original reporting: speak to economists, policymakers, and businesses. Who we want Someone who understands the beat well enough to know what questions to ask of a researcher, an engineer, or a policymaker. Someone who can write a complex argument clearly for a general but serious readership. The candidate must be extra-ordinarily well read on suggested beats/areas with exceptional writing skills.
