About the Role
As a Medical Coding Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records to assign accurate and standardized codes for insurance claims and research purposes. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with various medical coding systems.
You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices, and contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate and standardized codes for insurance claims and research purposes.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT.
- Work with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
- Identify and report coding errors or discrepancies to management.
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field (zoology, bioinformatics, pharmacy, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical, physiotherapy).
- Basic knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
