About the Role
In this role, you will be working with medical professionals to analyze and code medical data for insurance claims and research purposes. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately assign codes to medical procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
As a medical coder, you will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to ensure that medical data is accurately recorded and coded.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate and consistent codes to medical procedures and diagnoses
- Review and analyze medical records to identify coding errors and inconsistencies
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of medical coding systems and guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve coding discrepancies
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in medical coding regulations
- Contribute to the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a paramedical field (pharmacy, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge of bioinformatics and biopharmaceuticals
