About the Role
As an Assistant Professor in Quantum Computing at Alliance University, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Quantum Computing and related areas, contributing to research and scholarly output, and developing curriculum and laboratory facilities.
Day-to-day, you will design and deliver courses, guide students in projects and research, and collaborate with industry partners to build a high-quality academic and research ecosystem aligned with the School's deep-tech vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Quantum Computing and related areas, including Introduction to Quantum Computing, Quantum Mechanics for Computing, and Quantum Algorithms.
- Design and deliver courses, including developing course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, lab exercises, and project-based learning modules.
- Guide students in mini-projects, major projects, hackathons, innovation challenges, and research internships.
- Undertake high-quality research in Quantum Computing and related areas, leading to publications in reputed peer-reviewed / indexed journals and conferences.
- Build a focused research agenda in areas such as Quantum Algorithms and Complexity, Quantum Optimization, and Quantum Machine Learning.
- Support the design and continuous enhancement of Quantum Computing curriculum in line with emerging global academic and industry trends.
- Contribute to the establishment and strengthening of Quantum Computing labs, simulation environments, and research facilities within AU-QUASAR.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Quantum Computing / Quantum Information Science / Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Computational Science or a closely related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Strong academic record with relevant teaching / research potential in Quantum Computing or allied areas.
- Demonstrated research capability through publications, thesis work, projects, or research experience in the relevant domain.
- Strong conceptual and applied understanding of quantum computing and allied computational foundations.
- Ability to teach interdisciplinary learners from computing, mathematics, electronics, AI, and engineering backgrounds.
- Research orientation with evidence of publication potential / output.
- Familiarity with relevant tools, platforms, or frameworks in the quantum ecosystem.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and academic writing skills.
