System Development Engineer, XFN (Cross-Border Fulfilment Network)

About the Role
As a System Development Engineer on the XFN (Cross-Border Fulfilment Network) team, you will be responsible for owning deployments, automation, scaling, and solving operations with software across our systems. This will include identifying and resolving issues, automating and improving repetitive processes, and working closely with the development team to identify operational needs.
As a key member of the team, you will become intimately familiar with the architecture of our systems, and be responsible for diving deep into code, while developing solutions for our customers and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on coding projects primarily in Java and AWS technologies
- Provide software deployment support in staging and production environments
- Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance
- Own one or more technical components
- Improve XFN's infrastructure, operational performance, and stability
- Participate in design, code, and procedure reviews
- Identify opportunities arising from technical discussions and make technical trade-offs
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring)
- Knowledge of best practices for software deployment
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Java, Golang, Rust, Ruby, Python
