About the Role

This Assistant Professor role in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics & Mechatronics) involves delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, and mentoring students in areas like Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing laboratories, contributing to academic excellence, and aligning with UGC norms and Amity University's emphasis on research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Sensors and Actuators, PLC & SCADA, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing Automation, Industry 4.0, and Smart Manufacturing.
  • Develop and update course curriculum as per NEP 2020 and industry requirements.
  • Prepare lesson plans, lecture materials, assignments, laboratory manuals, and assessment tools.
  • Conduct laboratory sessions and practical demonstrations.
  • Conduct high-quality research in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, AI/ML applications in manufacturing, Digital Twins, Autonomous Systems, and Intelligent Manufacturing.
  • Publish research papers in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
  • Apply for funded research projects from DST, AICTE, SERB, DRDO, ISRO, MSME, and other funding agencies.
  • File patents and promote innovation and technology transfer.
  • Guide B.Tech./M.Tech. projects, internships, and dissertations.
  • Mentor students for technical competitions such as Smart India Hackathon, e-Yantra, SAE, RoboCup, and other robotics competitions.
  • Encourage entrepreneurship and startup activities.
  • Establish and maintain Robotics & Mechatronics laboratories.
  • Develop experiments involving Industrial Robots, Collaborative Robots (Cobots), PLC & Automation, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Embedded Systems, IoT-based Automation, and Machine Vision.
  • Ensure laboratory safety and proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in accreditation activities (NBA, NAAC).
  • Contribute to curriculum revision and academic committees.
  • Organize FDPs, workshops, conferences, seminars, and industrial visits.
  • Perform examination and evaluation duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Robotics or allied discipline with First Class.
  • M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/Robotics/Mechatronics/Automation/Control Systems/Manufacturing Engineering or related specialization with First Class.
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Robotics/Mechatronics/Automation or related area from a recognized university (preferred; candidates nearing completion may also be considered depending on institutional requirements).
  • Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • PLC Programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi)

  • SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, ANSYS
