About the Role

As a Medical Coding Analyst at AS Medical Coding Tech, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves working with various medical professionals to understand diagnoses, procedures, and treatments, and applying this knowledge to assign relevant codes. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of medical coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign medical codes to patient data using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding systems.
• Review and analyze medical records to identify coding errors and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to clarify coding queries and ensure accurate coding.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments, coding guidelines, and regulatory changes.
• Develop and maintain coding standards and guidelines for the organization.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of coding-related projects and initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

• Medical Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, CMC)
• Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Coding, Health Information Management, or related field
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
