Automation Tester

About the Role

As an Automation Tester at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by designing, developing, and executing testing strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
• Creation and execution of automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria.
• Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on testing expertise in Functional Testing, Regression Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, and Defect Management.
• Automation experience with Selenium, TestNG, Hybrid Frameworks, Java (or equivalent automation technologies).
• Technical skills in SQL, API Testing (REST/SOAP), CI/CD tools (GIT), and test management tools.
• Test tools proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, ALM/Test Management platforms.
• Agile delivery experience with working knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies.
• Domain knowledge in Banking and financial services experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
