About the Role

As a Thermal Intern at Digantara, you will contribute to the thermal design, analysis, and validation of spacecraft systems, ensuring that satellite platforms and payloads operate reliably in the extreme conditions of space. Your creativity and technical precision will help shape the future of satellite missions. You will work on designing thermal control systems, developing thermal models, performing simulations, and supporting thermal testing, contributing to hardware that ultimately launches into space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the thermal analysis and design of satellite platforms, payloads, and spacecraft subsystems.
  • Develop and maintain Thermal Mathematical Models (TMMs) for steady-state and transient thermal analyses.
  • Perform thermal simulations using Siemens Simcenter 3D, Space Systems Thermal Solver (SST).
  • Assist in the design and evaluation of spacecraft thermal control systems, including MLI, radiators, heaters, thermal coatings, and thermal interfaces.
  • Support thermal balance and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing, data analysis, and model correlation.
  • Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline post-processing and analysis of thermal simulation results.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recent graduates in bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Thermal, Space Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Fundamental knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Exposure to spacecraft thermal engineering concepts and thermal analysis tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Simcenter 3D (Space Systems Thermal), MATLAB Simulink or similar thermal simulation software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with any CAD software.
