QA/Test Engineer Intern

About the Role

This internship offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance and web application testing. As a QA/Test Engineer Intern, you will work closely with developers and product teams to ensure our web applications are reliable, user-friendly, and meet quality standards.

You will be responsible for testing web applications across different browsers and devices, understanding business requirements, and verifying application functionality. This role is ideal for those interested in software testing and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Test web applications across different browsers and devices to ensure compatibility and functionality.
• Understand business requirements and verify application functionality to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Create and execute test cases based on functional requirements to identify defects and improve product quality.
• Identify, document, and report software defects with clear reproduction steps to facilitate bug fixes.
• Perform regression, functional, and smoke testing before releases to ensure stability and quality.
• Collaborate with developers to improve product quality and maintain test documentation and testing reports.

Skills & Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BCA, MCA, B.Tech, or an equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Familiarity with web applications and how they function.
• Understanding of basic testing concepts such as Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Ability to write clear and detailed bug reports.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative environment.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools.
• Exposure to bug tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing using tools like Postman.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodology is a plus.
