Data Analyst (Junior level) (6 months-4 years)

About the Role

This Junior Azure Data Analyst role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a solid understanding of database concepts and ETL processes, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.

You will provide technical assistance for our data and analytics products built on Microsoft technologies and assist in transforming data into valuable insights using your analytical abilities, familiarity with Azure data services, and proficiency in SQL, Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SSIS, or custom Python scripts.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) between on-premises and cloud sources (e.g., MS SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage).
• Help monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, and ensure timely data availability.
• Support database operations including backup/restore, health checks, and schema documentation.
• Use SQL to query and manipulate data from Microsoft SQL Server and Azure-based data stores.
• Develop basic reports and dashboards using Power BI, under the guidance of senior team members.
• Contribute to the design and upkeep of data models within the Azure environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months – 4 years of relevant experience in cloud monitoring, ETL, or data engineering.
• Familiarity with: Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, and Azure SQL Database SQL Server (T-SQL) and basic Python scripting.
• Good understanding of data flow concepts and monitoring needs in production environments.
• Analytical mindset with attention to performance and operational excellence.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience or strong academic knowledge of database systems and data warehousing concepts.
• Decent understanding of relational databases and the ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts and ideally some exposure to Azure Data Factory or similar tools.
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a team.
