Intern - Technical PMO & Product Operations
Job Description
About the Role
In this internship you’ll act as the connective tissue between product, engineering and program teams, ensuring that every project milestone is tracked, every tool is configured correctly and every report tells a clear story. You’ll spend most of your time in Jira and Power BI, turning raw data into dashboards that help stakeholders spot bottlenecks before they become blockers.
Key Responsibilities
- Track project actions, milestones and risks in Jira, updating boards and creating status reports for cross‑functional owners.
- Configure and maintain Aha! and Power BI dashboards, adding new fields or automations under senior guidance.
- Document current workflows in Confluence, drafting user guides that standardise tool usage across teams.
- Analyze operational data, flag inconsistencies and suggest data‑quality fixes that improve reporting accuracy.
- Identify repetitive tasks and prototype low‑code automations with Power Automate or SQL scripts.
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering and Program Management to align tool adoption and process changes.
- Prepare weekly summaries for the PMO, highlighting key metrics and action items for leadership.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in IT, CS, Business or related field (or final‑year student).
- Hands‑on experience with Jira, Power BI, or similar project‑management tools from coursework or a side project.
- Basic SQL knowledge to pull data for dashboards or validate data integrity.
- Familiarity with Agile ceremonies and product‑development terminology.
- Strong written communication – able to produce clear Confluence pages and stakeholder emails.
- Comfort with data visualisation and a willingness to learn Power Automate or low‑code platforms.
- Problem‑solving mindset: able to trace a root cause in a workflow and propose a practical fix.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of the internship you’ll have a solid grasp of how a global tech company orchestrates product releases, from backlog grooming to post‑launch analytics. You’ll learn to translate business needs into concrete process changes, and you’ll see firsthand how automation can cut manual effort by 30‑50 %. The exposure to cross‑functional collaboration will sharpen your stakeholder‑management skills, a key asset for any future PM or operations role.
Resume Tip
Include a mini‑case study in your résumé: describe a small project where you used Jira or Power BI to solve a real problem (e.g., “Reduced sprint planning time by 20 % by creating a custom filter that auto‑assigns tickets based on component”). Quantify the impact and link to a GitHub or Confluence page if possible.
