About the Role

This Intern role at GE Healthcare is an exciting opportunity for a fresher to gain hands-on experience in the medical equipment service industry. As an intern, you will work within a hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues, implement repairs, and maintain effective customer relations.

You will have the chance to work with a team of experienced technicians, learn from them, and contribute to providing efficient service delivery to all accounts within your assigned area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
  • Under supervision, evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections.
  • Follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation as guided.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment and perform safety and environmental inspections ensuring compliance to Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Maintain approved parts inventory and manage vendor's service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate of no more than 6 months from an A.S., B.S., or M.S. Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, or Mechanical Principles degree program or equivalent.
  • Previous experience and/or course work in interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging, electronic equipment, and/or basic biomedical equipment.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process and submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
