About the Role
As an Intern Mechatronics at GE Healthcare, you will be working within a hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and ensure proper functionality. Your day-to-day tasks will involve observing and performing various equipment service processes and procedures to drive customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for maintaining effective customer relations, following GE policies and procedures, and completing necessary documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a hospital radiology environment to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues.
- Implement appropriate repairs and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
- Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
- Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections.
- Maintain effective customer relations and follow GE policies and procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation and maintain approved parts inventory.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate of an A.S., B.S. or M.S. Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology or Mechanical Principles degree program or equivalent.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
- Previous experience and/or course work in interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging, electronic equipment, and/or basic biomedical equipment.
- Ability to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a drug test and submit to a background investigation.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (not applicable for Indian job seekers).
