DevOps Intern

About the Role

As a DevOps Intern, you’ll dive into the day‑to‑day operations that keep a fast‑growing D2C brand’s digital services online. From automating deployments to monitoring production health, you’ll work side‑by‑side with engineers to ensure smooth, reliable releases across web and in‑store systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins, writing scripts to automate build, test, and deployment stages.
• Assist in provisioning and managing cloud resources on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including EC2, ECS, or EKS instances.
• Containerise applications with Docker and help set up basic Kubernetes clusters for scalable deployments.
• Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch to detect and resolve production incidents.
• Document runbooks, troubleshooting steps, and best‑practice guides for the engineering team.
• Collaborate with developers during sprint planning to understand deployment requirements and potential bottlenecks.
• Track infrastructure costs, identify optimisation opportunities, and suggest budget‑friendly alternatives.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or ongoing degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Basic Linux proficiency and scripting skills in Bash or Python.
• Version control experience with Git and familiarity with branching workflows.
• Introductory knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their core services.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes, even if through personal projects or coursework.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and at least one tool (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, willingness to ask questions, and effective communication skills.
