About the Role
This Site Reliability Engineer role involves ensuring the availability and reliability of various components within the team, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing automation to meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs). The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring systems, reviewing ownership data, and leading postmortems for critical incidents. They will also train the team on distributed problem management and drive continuous improvement through toil reduction and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and ensure the availability of components within the team and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor systems for implemented automation and set Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) along with respective stakeholders.
- Review all ownership data and ensure it is current and complete.
- Review the volume and accuracy of bugs assigned to the team and identify opportunities to improve automated triage.
- Identify Customer Flow Based Testing (CFBT) eligible flows, develop CFBT tests, and train the team on how to write and maintain them.
- Lead postmortems for any Priority 1 (P1) or greater incidents during the rotation.
- Train the team on distributed problem management process.
