About the Role

As a Principal Engineer I in Cloud & Solutions at Invesco, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS platforms. This includes monitoring and alerting systems, automation of deployments and routine tasks, and ensuring security and compliance with governance policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS platforms.
• Implement and manage monitoring tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, and ServiceNow to track performance, identify issues, and respond to alerts.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, and OpenTofu) and scripting (Python, Bash) to automate deployments, provisioning, and routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system incidents, outages, and security issues, often participating in on-call rotations.
• Enforce security best practices, manage access controls, and ensure adherence to governance policies.
• Continuously tune cloud resources for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Work closely with development teams to support application deployments and with IT teams on infrastructure needs.

Skills & Qualifications

• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Cloud Operating Systems: Linux, Windows.
• Automation Tools: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers.
• Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or similar certifications.
