About the Role

As a Systems Development Engineer 1 at JLL, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency, deployment processes, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency, deployment processes, and operational workflows
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, responding to incidents and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application deployment and infrastructure provisioning
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for reliability, scalability, and observability
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for production systems and resolve critical issues
• Document system architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures to enable knowledge sharing
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
• Work with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices across systems and infrastructure

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 0-2 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or related technical role
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar
• Understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and at least one major cloud platform
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly
