Associate Software Engineer

About the Role

As an Associate Software Engineer at MetLife, you will be working on developing and integrating Python-based components for AI use cases, following established designs and best practices. This role involves supporting AI/ML workflows, including data preparation, model integration, and API-based consumption. You will also collaborate with Senior AI Engineers to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate Python-based components for AI use cases following established designs and best practices.
• Support AI/ML workflows including data preparation, model integration, and API-based consumption.
• Implement and support RAG-based pipelines, including understanding of LLMs, chunking strategies, embeddings, and vector retrieval under guidance.
• Collaborate with Senior AI Engineers to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable AI solutions.
• Assist in testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment of AI-enabled applications.
• Learn and apply cloud, AI, and software engineering best practices through hands-on project work and mentorship.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong Python programming with solid software development fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and applied AI use cases.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, data handling, and modular code design.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and modern development tools with a strong learning mindset.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in software development.
