About the Role
This Software Engineer role at Microsoft involves designing, building, and operating scalable services that manage capacity allocation, placement, and lifecycle for Azure SQL Database workloads. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable services that manage capacity allocation, placement, and lifecycle for Azure SQL Database workloads.
- Improve service reliability, performance, and availability through automation, observability, and incident prevention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across Azure Data to deliver resilient, customer-centric solutions for mission-critical workloads.
- Leverage modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation, telemetry-driven development, and DevOps workflows.
- Continuously improve developer productivity through tooling, frameworks, and automation.
- Collaborate with a team of passionate engineers working on building and scaling the capacity management infrastructure for Azure SQL DB.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- Proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Strong understanding of Azure, SQL, and microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD, test automation, telemetry-driven development, and DevOps workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
