About the Role
As a Quantitative Researcher at Open Futures Group, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and optimizing predictive trading signals for high-frequency and systematic trading strategies across multiple asset classes. This role involves working alongside experienced traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to identify market inefficiencies and transform ideas into profitable trading strategies.
You will be working with large-scale market and alternative datasets, analyzing market microstructure, and identifying statistically significant trading opportunities. Your tasks will include designing, backtesting, and evaluating quantitative models using rigorous scientific methodologies, building predictive models using statistical techniques and machine learning where appropriate, and collaborating with trading and engineering teams to deploy research into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop alpha signals using large-scale market and alternative datasets.
- Analyze market microstructure and identify statistically significant trading opportunities.
- Design, backtest, and evaluate quantitative models using rigorous scientific methodologies.
- Build predictive models using statistical techniques and machine learning where appropriate.
- Collaborate with trading and engineering teams to deploy research into production.
- Continuously monitor, refine, and improve strategy performance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Graduation from top IITs in Computer Science (CSE), Mathematics & Computing (M&C), or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE).
- Outstanding analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong foundation in probability, statistics, linear algebra, optimization, and algorithms.
- Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python, with familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and scientific computing libraries.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Curiosity to explore data, challenge assumptions, and uncover hidden patterns.
