System Administrator (Mangalore)

About the Role

This System Administrator role at Recognized involves ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems and networks, providing technical support to users, and maintaining data security. You will be responsible for monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing backup and recovery procedures. Your primary goal will be to maintain the reliability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and manage Windows and Linux systems, ensuring they meet the required specifications and security standards.
• Design and implement network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and the Internet.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to prevent downtime and data loss.
• Provide technical support to users, resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster or system failure.
• Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement and implement new technologies and processes to enhance system performance and security.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in system administration, networking, and security, and apply this knowledge to improve our IT infrastructure.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Experience with system administration tools, such as PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.
• Understanding of data security principles and practices, including encryption, access control, and threat management.
• Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to users.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software, such as Veritas NetBackup or Veeam.
