Accounts receivable (AR) executives manage the incoming-payment side of finance operations — raising and tracking customer invoices, following up on outstanding payments, reconciling customer accounts, and supporting collections when payments run overdue. Compared to accounts payable, AR work involves noticeably more communication — chasing payments professionally over email or calls is a real part of the job, so basic client-communication comfort matters alongside accounting accuracy. Like AP roles, larger companies and GCCs often run AR as a dedicated function, and ERP exposure (SAP, Oracle) is a genuine plus at interview. Fresher AR executive salaries typically range ₹2.5–4.5 LPA, with GCCs and larger shared-service finance centers paying toward the top of that band. To stand out, be ready to talk through how you'd professionally follow up on an overdue payment without damaging a client relationship — interviewers specifically probe for this soft-skill angle in AR roles far more than they do in most other fresher accounting positions.
