Junior Accountant Jobs
Junior accountant is typically the first formal accounting title after a B.Com or M.Com, sitting just below a full accountant role — expect voucher and journal entries, basic reconciliation, invoice and payment processing, and close supervision from a senior accountant or finance manager while you build practical fluency. It's a role where companies actively expect a learning curve, so interviews tend to focus more on foundational understanding (debit/credit logic, basic ledger concepts) than on advanced skills. A working knowledge of Tally or similar accounting software, along with reasonable Excel comfort, meaningfully shortens the gap between hiring and being genuinely productive. Fresher junior accountant salaries typically range ₹2–4 LPA depending on city and company size. To stand out, be honest about what you know and don't — interviewers at this level are often more reassured by a candidate who clearly explains their learning process than one who overstates unfamiliar skills and gets caught out on a follow-up question.
