Software Engineer (Golang)

About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Siemens, you'll be working within the development team to extend and expand upon the features and capabilities for one of the products in our data analytics portfolio. You'll be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from understanding and gathering requirements to designing and implementing well-architected, scalable Golang-coded solutions.

This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles, experience with high-level languages, and a logical problem-solving approach. You'll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement software features and capabilities for our data analytics portfolio
• Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand and gather requirements
• Develop well-architected, scalable Golang-coded solutions
• Support the wider product team regarding software issues and questions
• Collaborate with the technical authoring team to produce technical content
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality software development practices
• Contribute to the improvement of our software development processes and tools

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or other related discipline
• Extensive experience with high-level languages, including Golang, C++, Python, and Java
• Experience developing robust and scalable enterprise-grade code
• Logical problem-solving approach and ability to communicate effectively
• Experience with software design patterns and principles
• Familiarity with source control using Git, Jira for issue tracking, Make, Docker/k8s/Cloud Providers, SQL Databases, and Continuous Integration technologies such as GitLab CI
• Cross-platform development experience (Windows and Linux)
