Finance Intern
Job Description
About the Role
As a Finance Intern at Taboola, you will immerse yourself in the daily pulse of global Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Collections. Your primary focus will be to process vendor invoices, reconcile ledgers, and support collections outreach, all while learning how the company leverages automation and AI to streamline finance workflows. You’ll also collaborate with regional finance teams to understand how standardized procedures keep the business running smoothly across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and match vendor invoices against purchase orders and receipts, ensuring accuracy before posting to the ERP.
- Reconcile AP and AR ledgers, flagging discrepancies and working with cross‑regional teams to resolve them.
- Maintain aging reports, calculate DSO/DPO metrics and flag overdue items for collections outreach.
- Assist in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desktop Procedures (DTPs) for finance processes.
- Build simple dashboards in Excel or Power BI to track key performance indicators such as touch‑less processing rates and bad‑debt ratios.
- Participate in process‑scaling projects, documenting current workflows and proposing automation or RPA solutions.
- Coordinate with finance colleagues across multiple time zones to gather data, map processes and report findings.
- Support the creation of audit trails and evidence for internal and external audits.
- Help test and validate new automation scripts before they go live.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent; CA‑Inter, CMA, MBA (Finance) candidates welcome.
- Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals: journal entries, cycle, AP/AR concepts and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP or Oracle.
- Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms – useful for understanding automation logic and scripting.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and a structured approach to problem‑solving.
- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders across regions and time zones.
- Interest in emerging tech (RPA, AI, straight‑through processing) and willingness to experiment with new tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as SOX or GDPR enhances your profile.
What You'll Learn
Early exposure to global finance operations will give you a clear view of how large enterprises manage cash flow, risk and compliance at scale. Working on automation projects will teach you the fundamentals of workflow design, data mapping and the basics of robotic process automation. You’ll also develop a knack for translating business requirements into process documentation, a skill that is highly transferable across finance and operations roles. Additionally, you’ll gain hands‑on experience with key performance metrics, learning how to turn raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Resume Tip
Showcase a mini‑project where you used Excel or a simple scripting language to automate a repetitive finance task—describe the problem, the solution you built, and the measurable impact (e.g., time saved or error reduction). This concrete example demonstrates both technical aptitude and a proactive mindset, qualities that hiring managers look for in a Finance Intern.
