About the Role
As a Unit Financial Controller in the hospitality industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a specific unit within a hotel or resort. This includes managing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and making informed decisions to optimize revenue and control costs.
Day-to-day tasks will involve reviewing financial reports, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing cost-saving measures. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to management.
- Develop and implement budgeting and forecasting models to optimize revenue and control costs.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures to reduce expenses and improve profitability.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and accounting standards.
- Certifications in finance or accounting, such as CPA or CMA, are a plus.
