About the Role
This Product Analyst Intern role at The World Bank Group offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, contributing to the development of digital systems that support environmental and social risk management and accountability functions.
As a member of the E&S (Environmental & Social Safeguards) team, you will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, build tools, and innovate with AI technologies to validate proof of concepts and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Product Owner in gathering, documenting, and refining business requirements and user stories for E&S digital systems.
- Assist in translating stakeholder needs into structured requirement documents (BRDs), use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering sessions with business and technical teams.
- Help maintain and prioritize the product backlog in coordination with development teams.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination and feedback consolidation.
- Innovate with team on the future of AI in E&S systems and build proof of concepts (POCs).
- Rapid prototyping with AI technologies to validate proof of concepts, systems and workflows.
Skills & Qualifications
- Postgraduate student in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or STEM related fields.
- 0–6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum concepts and product management practices.
- Familiarity with business process modelling concepts and tools (Flowcharts, use cases, databases, etc.).
- Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role.
What You'll Learn
This internship program offers a high-impact learning experience, where you will gain hands-on exposure to how the Bank manages environmental and social risk, complaints, and incident tracking across its global project portfolio.
You will build skills in requirements gathering, applied AI/ML for risk classification and case triage, or data engineering, all while contributing to tools that support accountability and protect communities affected by Bank-financed projects.
