About the Role
As a Data Analyst at U.S. Bank, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting the modernization of the company's metadata-driven financial reporting data integration platform. Your primary responsibility will be to work with Oracle PL/SQL, designing and implementing efficient data integration solutions that meet the company's high standards.
With the potential migration to AWS Databricks (PySpark/Python) on the horizon, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in modern data engineering and contribute to the company's growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient data integration solutions using Oracle PL/SQL, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain production-ready code, adhering to the company's discipline and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate data results and debug transformation issues effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying your knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
- Participate in the migration to AWS Databricks (PySpark/Python), developing your skills in modern data engineering.
- Contribute to the development of banking domain fluency, including Average Daily Balancing math, General Ledger structure, and COBOL legacy deconstruction.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Oracle PL/SQL, including dynamic SQL, partitioned tables, performance tuning, and restartable processes.
- Experience with production discipline, including rerun safety, parity validation, and ops handoff documentation.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate data results and debug transformation issues effectively.
- Knowledge of modern data engineering, including Databricks, PySpark, and AWS S3.
- Banking domain fluency, including Average Daily Balancing math, General Ledger structure, and COBOL legacy deconstruction.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
