About the Role

As a Media Associate at Varahe Analytics, you will be part of the Media Monitoring team, contributing to the company's strategic success by monitoring traditional and social media sources for coverage related to the Punjab region. Your role will involve analyzing key narratives, trends, and sentiment within the media landscape, and providing timely and relevant information to inform strategic decision-making.

Day-to-day, you can expect to spend time continuously monitoring media sources, identifying and analyzing key narratives, preparing regular reports and summaries of media coverage, and collaborating with the Narrative Coordination team to provide timely and relevant information.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor traditional and social media sources for coverage related to the Punjab region, including news articles, social media posts, and online discussions.
• Identify and analyze key narratives, trends, and sentiment within the media landscape.
• Prepare regular reports and summaries of media coverage, highlighting significant developments and potential impact.
• Collect and analyze data related to media coverage, using analytical tools to identify patterns and insights.
• Work closely with the Narrative Coordination team to provide timely and relevant information to inform strategic decision-making.
• Assist the content team in the creation of relevant content inputs, briefs, and supporting material based on media monitoring and narrative trends.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
• Understanding of the political and social dynamics of Punjab.
• Fluent in Punjabi (read, write, speak) and proficient in reading Gurmukhi, along with Hindi and English.
