Full Stack Developer - Heavy Materials & Logistics (Remote)
Job Description
About the Role
This Full Stack Developer role will involve building, extending, and hardening the product surfaces that our customers run their business on. You will own features end-to-end, from problem framing and data modeling through API, UI, tests, and rollout.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end delivery of customer-facing features across backend, frontend, and data layers.
- Data modeling, schema design, and query performance, including indexes, execution plans, and migrations.
- API design and integration, including clean contracts between services and customer-facing applications.
- Frontend implementation that actually works for operators in the field, focusing on performance, accessibility, and unambiguous UX.
- Test discipline, including unit, integration, and regression coverage to deploy without holding your breath.
- Operational fitness, including observability, error tracking, and small fixes to prevent the next incident.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience shipping production full-stack features and ability to talk through real tradeoffs made.
- Ability to read a slow query plan and have an instinct for where the index belongs.
- Comfortable picking up an unfamiliar language or framework with AI assistance and shipping in it.
- Polyglot history, with meaningful contributions across multiple stacks in a single product.
- Real production experience with a relational database, such as Postgres, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Background in construction-tech, logistics, field-service, or any operations-heavy domain.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
What You'll Learn
In this role, you will gain experience in full-stack development, data modeling, and API design. You will also learn how to work with AI coding agents and improve your skills in architecture, quality, reliability, and AI-native workflows.
Resume Tip
When applying for this role, make sure to highlight your experience with full-stack development, data modeling, and API design. Emphasize your ability to work with AI coding agents and your experience with relational databases. Also, be prepared to talk about your problem-solving skills and how you approach complex technical challenges.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means shipping meaningful features quickly without breaking production, raising quality through tests and guardrails, reducing time-to-resolution during incidents, and preventing repeats. It also means making the team faster by improving how we use agents and validate their output.
How We Build
We build software using AI-first principles, where coding agents write a lot of the code and humans own the outcomes. We verify with tests, instrumentation, and runtime behavior, not trust. Good specs, constraints, and eval criteria are part of the engineering work, not separate from it.
What You'll Get
As a Full Stack Developer at XBE, you will get to work from anywhere, with significant overlap with the US morning shift. You will also get stability and long-term runway, with an established, growing company and a steady platform and clear priorities. You will have high ownership and high trust, with clear outcomes, minimal bureaucracy, and no micromanagement.
